About Us
Our goal is to offer you practical information focused on your lawns… from planning all the way through to the end. But, as all lawn lovers know, there are many interpretations of that word, “end”.
Once a lawn is planted, it’s fertilize-water-mow… then “rinse and repeat”. So, what’s the “end” we’re talking about? It’s you sitting in a lawn chair (or better yet, relaxing in a hammock), admiring your healthy lawn.
We’ve provided easy-to-follow tips for designing, creating, and maintaining lawns. You will also find an Organic Lawns category, offering easy and practical “green” alternatives.
A brand new category is in the works for those of you in areas experiencing or threatened by drought conditions. It will feature common-sense approaches to lawn landscapes…
- Identifying high-drought tolerant grass varieties and showing ways to introduce them into your landscape
- “Less-is-more” lawn landscape designs illustrating you can lessening your lawn’s footprint without losing the benefits of a lawn.
- Landscapes that substitute drought-tollerant groundcovers for traditional lawns.
- Landscapes that exclude traditional lawns entirely, but are still inviting and fresh. (There are some communities that insist on this type of landscape now, so we want to offer some choices.)
All of you are encouraged to make comments… nearly the entire blog is open to viewer comments. We would especially welcome your ideas for the category on water-conserving lawns.
